Wasn’t actually much of a picnic when you think about it. But it was an enormous success and tremendous fun!! Especially for the Yr 7 kids! It was a fun day…

Grouped up with groups 10 & 11, group 12 had a fun time cycling through all the activities we Yr 11s had organised. When it was my turn to run an activity, I was with Thai, and our group had decided Capture The Flag would be an awesome game to play. As we got to the Bicentennial park, however, Thai and I, who were chosen to first run the activity, discovered just how small the area we were using was (and that it was sloped downhill towards the lake). Along with that, we discovered that we needed to create new rules for the CTF game, else it was gonna get boring quickly. So, we decided to add a modified version of Stuck In The Mud to it! And boy did the kids enjoy it =]

Anyhows, as they were enthusiastically playing the game (while the leaders with them periodically joined in), I spent some time looking around. It’s wonderful to see so many people running around being happy in a park… Although it looks odd when they’re all wearing the same uniform, and are all around the same age and size… but that’s a school for ya =P

During recess, Niro pulled out some cupcakes/scone-like-things he had made and offered it to the group of yr 11s that were sitting around and chatting. For some strange reason, Erin called out that it was Niro’s birthday, and we all starting singing Happy Birthday to Niro. Of course, it wasn’t actually his birthday, but we didn’t care =] Some of the people who didn’t know though that it actually was his birthday, which just added to our fun. We all thanked him for his birthday cupcakes though! Once again at lunch we continued it when Yeli brought out a cake she had brought for her peer support group, we all broke into singing happy birthday for Niro again. It was fun!

As I’m writing this post after I have come back from youth group, I feel a bit too tired and way too lazy to type any more about my week and day, especially after having a bandage attached to my arm to protect a rather annoying graze on my elbow from getting an infection after I ran into some stairs in the dark whilst playing outdoor night games (We were playing CTF in the dark!! I just can’t be free of CTF today, can’t I?)

So, I’ll be finishing this now. The rest can be a story I can tell some other day.

MY PRECIOUS PRECIOUS HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!! *sobs*
Don’t worry, it’s nothing major, just my hair is shorter and I don’t like it at all…. It feels to light and short…. now I’ve just got to wait a month or two, or three before it feels right again…. and I’m not letting my mum get my hair cut (or let her cut it!) for 6 months or so……. hmm… that thought makes me feel better…..

oh, and last night at cr youth, it was a praise and worship night. So we sung a few songs, a few little quick talks in between (like a story from Acrum) and the such. After supper, we had group (yr groups) about what worship and praise and the like is, how we can do it (besides from songs, e.g. being a good example of a christian to other people), and then we had a short session of praying. Then it was back to a few more songs before we broke up to leave…. the things the others talk about afterwards… gee, they do some weird things.

It’s been a week since I last posted here… Nothing much has been happening, really. We got a common tests back last week. I definately only got 55/64 (or 85.9375%) which is ok, but I think I could’ve done alot better, as the test was easy. Only person in my class to get 10/10 in the multi-choice, though!!

As we draw closer to the end of the first term, I just look back and see how much different this year feels to last year (electives make life so much more interesting in school) and how we (well, most of us) have got less homework than last year, but more assignments. My mum said that that’s alot like 2nd year of uni…. It’s a bit lonely being seperated from my old friends from most of my classes. But the classes have forced me to make new friends when normally I would be really lazy and slow and not make as many as quickly……

Being a leader in Soul Purpose is interesting, as you’re looked to by the yr 7s all the time…. and it’s odd being a leader of a bible study group of yr 9s when you’re in yr 9… least, that’s what Jeffery said! Once again I’m burying my head in a book that I’ve borrowed off someone or the library. I wonder what Bryan’s reaction to my book I’m reading this time will be… (he’s been saying everybook I’m reading is bad). Last week or 2 (i don’t know) of ice-skating for sport, then I’ll try for table tennis!! they only take the 1st 10 people from each grade with cash…

Then after the hols I have a band camp (yayzors, a weekend without homework!) and at the end of May we have our Yr 9 camp (I completely forgot about that!). I’ve decided to do Duke of Ed this year… I wonder how it’ll go. This week’s flute ensemble rehershal was odd. At band in the morning, Mark told us flute ensmbler’s (there’s only me in the concert band who’se in the flute ensmble… Mark doesn’t know that though !!) that Renee said she’ll be a bit late to the practice, and then afterband, Renee comes in to tell me about how she will be doing this and that with her son, should be quick, and that if she’s late don’t worry, just get warmed up and tell the others…. half way through that convo, Mark wispered to me to tell her after all that that he’s already told us, which put a grin on my face, which then made Renee suspicous and made the whole ordeal twice as long as it would’ve been….. but it was still funny!!!!!

Anyways, when it did come around to flute ensemble in the afternoon, Sandra couldn’t come because she wouldn’t be able to get home (although Yusung (is that how his name is spelt??) wondered why she couldn’t just catch a bus or walk or something), Dinusha forgot her flute, and Cheritha had other things to attend to. So that left only Yusung, Isabella and I to wait while Renee was kept back for all reasons (unlucky for her). Really boring waiting for half an hour with nothing to do.

Anyways…. after that long story, I also have to decided whether or not I should/want to go on the concert/stage band tour (the note says that we SHOULD go… but that’s just the band people saying their normal everyone is involved thingo…), and I have to remember to get practice copies of music I might need (you know, to practice… If I’m to sound like I really want to be in that band, I’d better start practicing now, rater than writing this really long blog).

Another thing to mention: last week I decided to go with the Youth Group at the Hills Salvos to Luna park. I’ve never bothered to go to Luna Park before, so this was a wonderfully weird time for me (and I suppose for my brother as well). I went on the second rollercoaster in my life (and was fearful of my glasses coming off over the crests…) went on a few spining rides, and talked to my brother about the exuberant prices of the drinks and food there (I was smart enough to NOT buy anything there). It was a fun night, and I didn’t get to bed till 11 (pm)… which was bad as I needed the sleep to stay awake for my piano lesson the next morning!!!!
