There’s a fracture, in a colour bar
In the backseat, of a parked car
By the liquor store, where the street light
Keep you company, till the next night
That is the first verse of “Oh! Gravity” by Switchfoot (great band!!!). I’ve got the chorus stuck in my head as well…….
Oh gravity! Why can’t we seem to keep it together?
Sons of my enemies,
Why can’t we seem to keep it together?
Why this tragedy?
Why can’t we seem to keep it together?
Oh, gravity!
Why can’t we seem to keep it together?
Jon Foreman is a great singer/songwriter. I want to get his solo eps. One day.
Been reading Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox. Good book. Should be going to bed now. Didn’t get my normal 7-8 hours of sleep last night/this morning. Went to bed at 12:30ish…. if I keep that up, i’ll stunt my limited growth. Oh well.
Scripture today was interesting. A group from Toongabbie Christian school came to give a bit of a show/message. There was their ministry band (they were loud), a small acting troupe like group, and then the guy giving the message. Interesting message it was. Too bad my memory sux and I can’t remember what he was actually talking about. Maybe I’ll remember tomorrow….. most likely not.

at finishing assignments on time, let alone well. IST assignment was due today. I’m going to lose at least 10% on it cause I haven’t finished it for today, and I have to hand it in tomorrow… or the day after… oh no, and I bet it was worth a large percentage of my yearly mark… aww man… Read more »

Monday was… erm… eventful. Start off with getting up early, having my normal 15 minute shower, getting dressed, and going to concert band rehearsal. That morning we were practicing down in the main part of the TLC, so that we were set up for later… We did some sight reading of pieces for tour… I hope it’s as much fun as they keep on saying it is. Off to roll call, assembly and period 1. Then period 2 we performed for the Chinese visitors. The regional director for education actually noticed that some of us were wearing the PULSE shirts (glad to know he notices what his students are doing). We played Rush and New York: 1927. I wonder what it would’ve been like if we played New Symphony… Read more »

Music NightS was on Thursday and Friday night. That means going back to school at 6:30pm to prepare to perform to an audience of 2 or 3 teachers, the other performers and their parents and the odd student here and there. The first night, I had a performance for the Flute Ensemble, which was right after the junior band opening. From what I heard of them, they were ok. I think I’m going to like ‘High School Musical’… we’re going to be playing it on Concert band tour. The Flute ensemble did ok, but we probably could’ve played a bit better. We seemed a bit… drawn back? But who cares? I also was part of the ‘Beginner Band and Friends’, as one of the ‘friends’ of cause
. I was playing the piccolo! What fun. Sight reading music, playing an octave above the other flutes. Oscar was there to help boost the numbers, and Sean was playing Base Clarinet (go bass!!), Jess on Tuba, Nathan, Whinney, Fiona and Kitty? on percussion. The beginner band did pretty good, considering they’ve only been playing for 8 weeks. Read more »

[Edit] I got myself a new e-mail address. ignoble.introvert@gmail.com is the e-mail address. Took me a while to come up with that name, and a few searches with a thesaurus. But there it is. Still going to use antonyh3@hotmail.com as my main e-mail though. [/Edit]
I don’t really want a hair cut… or my hair to be trimmed….. but I suppose it’s got to be done one day… Yesterday, my mum decided to trim my hair, namely the fringe. I don’t think I like it that much… I guess it’ll have to grow on me… literally. Read more »

The last weekend before Yamaha fest, and I spent it practicing music and fixing a comp. It was also the weekend before one of my IST topic tests…
After school on Friday, most of the people from the concert band stayed back after school for the Concert band workshop. I was one of them (I’m in the concert band after all…). So we spend the afternoon in tutorials with tutours for our sections, obviously having fun while we’re doing it, teasing one another here and there. Pizza for dinner, and we started the regular pile of pizza boxes. The rubbish pile was already building up from the afternoon tea we had earlier. Rehearshal, where we got straight into… New Symphony…. ‘And the Earth Trembled’. Amazingly annoying music it is. Apparently the only reason Mark picked it was because it was different and that it would offer us a challenge. Oh, and he did mention something about no other bands would choose it (I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t!!). What a fun night, too bad I missed out on Youth that night… Read more »

So, on Sunday I joined the several thousand people in Australia who volunteered to help collect for the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal. This year, alot more people from Baulko signed up than last year, and even more wonderful, alot of them could actually come this year, compared to last year. At the collection point (where Anthony had set up his accounting system he programmed himself (he’s getting rather skilful…) the screens he had set up so people could see how much money they had collected was running on something he wrote up in 20 minutes at 9pm the night before! lol) I saw alot of people I know from our school. And so here I am, back from my band camp with the school. We went to Crusaders Recreation Centre in Galston. It was quite good this year.
After school, a few of us started sorting out and moving the gear from the TLC Band Room to the bus bay Read more »

It’s been a week since I last posted here… Nothing much has been happening, really. We got a common tests back last week. I definately only got 55/64 (or 85.9375%) which is ok, but I think I could’ve done alot better, as the test was easy. Only person in my class to get 10/10 in the multi-choice, though!!
As we draw closer to the end of the first term, I just look back and see how much different this year feels to last year (electives make life so much more interesting in school) and how we (well, most of us) have got less homework than last year, but more assignments. My mum said that that’s alot like 2nd year of uni…. Read more »

Hey guys! Just decided to do a quick run through how my life has been going (generally) so far. Start off: School. Its been good to me so far, not yet overkill on the assignments like some other people, just still enough to ware me down a tad bit. I’ve still got two assignments due this week, so I’m going to try and squeeze it in with my mum’s schedule.
Soul Purpose. Yeah, if I hadn’t mentioned earlier somewhere, I’m a leader in JSP (Junior Soul Purpose). This term (and probably year) Soul Purpose split to try and cater for a wider range of people. Junior for a bit more fun and games, and Senior for a more Bible study type group. Mrs Corfield asked a few of us yr 9s to be leaders, and I decided I’d join. Now, Tammy, Gabi, Dietrich, Tim, Jeffery and I are leaders in JSP. We haven’t done too much yet, just help out with activities, put on a play, try to lead in group discussions, and have a rather odd session about ‘Our Family In God’ yesterday. Read more »
