Boring

Old day. History exam today. Felt I went alright. IST was kinda boring, except that I showed Kevin Zhu how Alienware Laptops are THE BEST… at a price. Commerce was boring work, maths was tiring and we spent the last 15 minutes revising graphs. English… oh well, we put up a good fight against Mrs Ingersol’s class, and I feel the main reason they did so well was because of Deva, but their other speakers were also good. We just weren’t good enough to beat them. Congrats to Niro, Deva, Lenny and Derga for their win, and congrats to Celia, Oliver, Ilona, Sid and Lawerence for coming up with great arguments and debating (Lawerence was back-up…).

Wonderful storm this evening, wasn’t it? I like watching the lightning strikes… they look so magnificent. And the thunder is a great sound after watching the lightshow…

Darn it

stupid moronic retarded idiotic imbecile that is a student at our school!!! Why’d he have to unplug the the LAN cable and switch off the computer in C4 during commerce today?! Read more »

Getting somewhere

Yet nowhere. I’m actually getting somewhere with my new theme. I’m slowly writing out all the CSS properties for it (there’s so many things I have to make sure a right……), and I’ve got the HTML & PHP sorted out pretty much. Then I’ve got to add the graphics to it…

Meanwhile, my studying for the yearlies is horrible. I get so bored having to study, maths is killing my mind, and science is annoying to study for this year. Geo I’ve got no hope, just gotta read through what we did in class (not that much recently though…). History… I might get an alright mark, but government controls?! We haven’t done much on them, and I was away for the censorship… time to use my own knowledge again…

Commerce should be OK… I hope I was listening in class, because we certainly didn’t learn anything from what we wrote down. PDM… meh, I can cope with it being a bad mark. I just hope she doesn’t ask us to base it off some research task we were supposed to have done, then again, she never gave us one =].

IST, well, dunno about that. I’m gonna get a horrible mark for the homework, as I haven’t been bothered to upload it (or type it up). I should do that asap..  I wonder how I’ll go for PD/H/PE… or english…

Relieved…

That I’ve finally done my piano exam and managed to get a B+ somehow. I felt like I was going to get like a C+… When I’ve got the original copy of my exam remarks off my teacher, I’ll see whether the examiner thought I was good or not..

Ohk, so, I haven’t yet mentioned it on my blog. Ms Sweeny’s class debating team is as follows: Oliver, Ilona, Antony, Celia, and as back-up, Sid.

When she announced that, we weren’t surprised with Oliver and Ilona (“They are the obvious choices”) but ME?! Everyone else in the class was excellent, and I managed to be picked out of all of them? I was like one of two people in the class who didn’t put up their hand when Ms Sweeny asked who was interested in being on the team… oh well. I’ll just have to actually try now.

Wonder if it’s gonna rain tomorrow for the 3rd week in a row…

Oops

I capped my internet, just when I need to finish my science assignment… well, actually, I capped it on Friday afternoon I think… but I hadn’t noticed till yesterday (when I actually started to surf the web). Now the only websites that load quickly are the homepage for Google, and my blog (Google Gears is a wonderful tool!!).

Anyhows, finishing this science assignment is going to be slightly harder than I though. Namely the making it into a ‘lesson’ my group can easily do…

Getting ready to fail my piano exam on Tuesday. My mum, being the hard studying Uni student that she’s become again, doesn’t want to have to go to school half-way through the day and have to write a note for me, so, I won’t be going to school on Tuesday. You might say that’s good, but for me, it means I’m concentrating on how terrible I might do in my exam all day…. without the distractions of school life… I think I’ll also do some extra study that day. My brother has his clarinet exam on Saturday. He seems to be fine. Why am I so nervous? probably because I’m so lacking in GK and aural skills.

Time is running out

For all us people who have exams looming ahead of them. Next week the yr 7s and 8s have their yearlies, and the week after, us yr 9s will be sitting them as well…             I’M NOT READY FOR THEM!!!

Anyhows, I reckon I’m gonna do terribly for my piano exam on Tuesday. There is no chance I’m gonna get an A.. or a B+… unless I’m really lucky, and get amazingly better with my GK and aural… I could probably fluke aural though…

I should probably start doing proper work on that science assignment due next week, and not just reading through pages on the internet vaguely related to it (how does a quasar relate to a satellite?)

Oh well

At least we tried. We were narrowly beaten (or so Mrs Sweeny said) by the Negative team for our debate… but that means that games definately should not be banned!! yay =]  Congrats to the Negative team.

Exams coming very soon. BTW, Mr J. is writing the maths exam!! He was kind enough to give his class a list of the topics he’ll be using in the exams. Piano exam soon, need to study my general knowledge like crazy. Why does Deva have to leave in week 5? Can’t you stay for longer Deva? We need you for our PDM video, and for the rest of school. It’s gonna be different with you missing…

Anywhos, time to finish off that science assignment. And I probably should also finally print off and finish my previous science assignment… and do proper work on the across-the-grade science assignment. Meh, one of these days.

Tuning?

We had our piano tuned on Wednesday. It definately sounds better now, and also now the dampening pedal doesn’t squeak all the time. And now the top end register doesn’t sound so soft… I wonder what was wrong with it…

Band this morning was ok. I finally got to see the new song people have been talking about. I once again realise how bad my scales are on the flute… anywhos, it was otherwise good.

Futsal comp back on today. Everyone on our team (except Anthony) forgot their shoes, so we had to play barefoot (some of us played with our socks on). I’m a terrible goalie, just so you know, but we still managed to win with the help of Piranavan. Yay!! Or at least, I think we won…

Anyways, Good Luck to Yr 12s again!! Good luck to Yr 10 next week with their SC. Good luck to Accel Yr 9s!! Good luck to people doing music exams!!

Time again

To blog. Karan, why are you telling me to blog more when you yourself haven’t touched your blog in over a month? And sorry to Ying. I forgot to mention your birthday!! On that thought, which day was it?… and do you even read my blog?

On Friday we had a non-calc test for maths and a graphing/process test for science. Great to see that few of us were fretting about failing. The non-calc wasn’t as hard as I expected, and I think I might actually pass this time round. And the graphing test wasn’t that hard. Oh, BTW, for all those people out there, Thorium-234 has a half-life of 24.1 days. So if you got 24, 23 or 25 days for that question, you’re guaranteed a mark.

Interesting Day

Today was odd. I spent half my day inside the library because of various teachers being away at in-service things. Our relieving dep. principal Mrs Mathews (I don’t care how her name is spelt) didn’t seem to be able to find any subs for us, so she got all the classes who had those teachers to come to the library and she would watch over us while we studied. I was one of the lucky ones, I had Mrs Berhlener for PDM in the morning (double period) and Mrs Sweeny for english (2 separate periods), who were both away, so I spent half the day, sitting there at a desk in the library, reading a book, playing cards, playing on my DS, and reading over my maths notes for the test tomorrow….
Oh, and if you didn’t know this already, I can’t spell too well, and I have a terrible head for names (aka I can’t remember them). Just thought I’d mention it. While I’m on that, I’ve now learned that in the band, I’m the only person who can properly play Mario Kart DS… sad, I know :P but I found this out when I was on band camp. Some people (yr 8s mainly) were playing MK against each other, and I asked for a go, and I beat them all, I nearly lapped them, actually…. probably just shows that I play it too much.
Tomorrow we’re off to some play called Solider Boy, it’s about Australia’s youngest ANZAC in WWI, not the song. That’s half the day gone (only half?!?) and then we’re back at school, and guess what we have first period back? MATHS… and guess what we’re doing then?? All you Baulko people know….
I don’t like tests, they examine people in a unrealistic way. It’s like putting you in an extreme thinking situation. I mean, how often do people have to study things about Shakespeare or WWII and then have to sit down and write an essay about it in 40-120 minutes?? It only happens in school, so why test us on it? It’s like learning to drive a space shuttle, and then taking up a job in the Navy. Makes no sense, and is a waste of time. “You should be able to write a 10 page essay in 2 hours” great for us, does it help us in life?? NO!! Well, only in yr 12. BUT that’s it! So why make us do it?? Stupid board of studies…. stupid people who think they know better when they’re no more smarter than us…
Anyways, we’ve now got 3 weeks of exam spotted school (National testing soon…), so I guess I’d better be doing something better than blogging :(

About

Hiya! I'm Ant, an aussie Teen living out in Sydney, Australia (and BTW, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney is not a real address... yet), and welcome to my blog. Hopefully you're not a stalker =]

Aside from blogging, I also have made some attempts at website & WordPress Theme design (as seen by my blog!), so expect some weird things on this site sometimes
