I really should get around to removing all the non-backup duplicates of files I have on the computer. Such as the 2 extra copies of the photos of our New Zealand holiday in 2001 (or was it 2000? I cannot remember. Maybe it was 2002…). Or the 3 copies of my phone’s memory card. I’m sure that there’s not too many things of value on each copy that was different. I suppose after the HSC (probably around Christmas time, when I’m not partying, or on holidays, or watching movie marathons, or practising piano/flute/clarinet/guitar… can’t be practising piccolo any more by then because I’d have returned it to the school =[ Unless I buy my own) I can just go through the… (at this point I paused in my writing to find out how many files I have in my “Documents” Library) …54,093 files contained within 4,550 folders, taking up 39.9GB… Read more »

So, it’s been another long gap between by blog posts, but I guess that Year 12 does that to you. Actually, I suppose any final year in secondary or tertiary study would do that to you. Anyways, today I’m posting this from school, because I have absolutely no exam on today during this trail HSC period. Why am I at school then, when I could be at home studying? How nice of you to ask =P Read more »

No. I don’t like them. Therefore Exnglish sucks heaps. Only because we’re forced to do it.

Well, it’s that annoying time again: exam weeks. The stress I’m going through, not to mention some of the others in my school, is amazing. It’s just High School, people say. It’s not gonna kill you if you don’t do well. Ohk then, you try being in an ultra competitive selective school like mine then, see how you feel then!
Anyways, now I’ve finally seen last month’s edition of the Baulko Bulletin, I can see what Aaron was talking about with the editing issues. I don’t know the exact circumstances around how Tonia designed the layout in Photoshop, but the errors and quality just annoyed me. Piece of advice to anyone who’s considering putting text in a picture: unless you have a high resolution picture, don’t use JPEG with text, the artifacts around the letters makes it hard and painful to read. Use PNG instead. (if anyone’s wondering, the difference comes down to the compression methods of each format, and what they specialise in. JPEG was designed for photographs with smooth gradients, not the stark contrasting lines that text create with their background. PNG is a lossless compression that retains the stark contrasts, therefor better for texts)
And one of the articles was a kid in yr 10 wonderfully explaining the technical definitions of words and people’s common misuse of them, e.g. the USB drive… People drop the drive part. But then, he wrongly described what Wi-Fi was, and I was like “argh!! Nooooo!!!!!” he correctly said that Wi-Fi isn’t wireless inter net but (where he went wrong) the way of distributing it. It is not the way of distributing it, but a radio technology allowing for networking between computers. Internet is just something it can send over the link!!
Anyways, I’m gonna go now. Typing this on an iPod Touch is becoming tiring.

Well, I know that there are many new things I’ll experience in life, but these yearly exams are just totally stressing me!! Oh, and I’ve tried a iPod Touch 4th Gen, and it looks and feels so awesome. It’s not just that it is thinner, it even looks and feels thinner! And my first time I’ve seen a retina display, well, let’s just say that it does look like a printed page. More later!

Now I understand why people don’t post much on forums & blogs around exam time. Because you don’t do too much of interest, and because you’re so darn occupied with studying everything. Sometimes I wonder how wise the accelerated subjects students are… they do really well in 1 subject in their HSC because they concentrate solely on it, and then they have less units to worry about the year after during the rest of their HSC.
Anyways, not much is happening in my life, except that this is the last week before my exam-just-about-every-single-day-of-the-exam-weeks yearlies, and I’m stressed, tired, worried and definitely not studying enough. I can just feel the unpreparedness in my mind and heart… and it’s scary. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking: it’s just Yr 11. Well, I need to do well now, because it’ll lead on to a trend next year!! I need to make good habits, and so far, they’re not as good as I’d like!
Anyhows, TTFN!! Ta Ta For Now!

I am going to say this quickly, as I don’t know how much time I have available to me.
I’m not going to be blogging much for the foreseeable future, as my mum has restricted my use of the computer (for good reason I guess). So, until I get myself an iPod Touch or the Nokia X6 or Nokia 5800, I’m not really gonna have much chance to properly blog.
So, as a quick update: Exam timetables are up!! Now I’m really starting to worry about how much I’m studying… I need to finish a prac. essay for English, and I haven’t done any homework for maths recently (been busy trying to practise piano while doing every other subject’s homework stuff…). I should probably write up a summary for Maths, rather than Phys and Chem, seeing as the sciences already gave us the Keep It Simple Science notes…
So, yeah. TTFN, Ta Ta For Now!! (But not for too long, I hope!)

Just because Niro said so, and because I actually feel like it, AN UPDATE HAS ARRIVED!
So, just a small recap of the past week or two. Last week Friday, Deva broke his white-out and spilt some on his pants, near his crotch, in science (Last period). He was rather self-consious of it… Week has been seemingly or relatively uneventful. Walking this week was different. It was drizzling half the time, but we still went out walking. Didn’t get to stop at any shops. Read more »

Ohk, so 3 exams down, 3 to go… at least I can count. Maths, Commerce and PDM to go…
Just got my new Piano exam book today. The new series 16 book. It costs $59.95!!!!!!! Oh well. The cover is definately nice. I wonder if the pieces in it are good…. Of cause, this means that I am now officially starting my Eighth Grade Piano Exam (or, at least am preparing for it). I’m already predicting that I’ll do terribly in it… But before I get to the hour long exam for that, I need to actually do my 4th grade theory exam.
Fernand Leger is an annoying French guy that we have to know about for PDM. Commerce with Dumas has taught me that I should pay 100% attention to the stuff we’re supposed to learn and not the jokes and sidetrack stuff that happens. Maths has taught me that I will never ever master any of it. That was random.
