Someone please explain to me why my blog is no longer blocked by the DET portal (at least for Seniors), while other’s blogs aren’t?? I mean, just last year, it was classified as “personal/blogs”…

Seniors get a few extra categories unblocked. For example, a lot more technical sites (e.g. forums, Q&A sites, etc.) are allowed, and some sites in the personal/blogs category are allowed (but only some – I can’t work out the exact rule there).
