Exams
Well, it’s only term 2, yet the English department are already treating us like its the HSC. Several exams are coming up, and writing practise essays (let alone real essays) hurts my head. You see, this is part of the reason I don’t like the subject English. That and the fact that I still don’t see any use for it in high school.
Anyways, I haven’t blogged in a while, have I?? I really should get back in the habit of doing so, just so this site is useful. And maybe I should continue my learning of C#? What I find the most annoying is that all the tutorials on the internet seem to be for C#1.0, C#1.1, or C#2.0. None of the really seem to hit on C#3.0 or C#3.5, let alone C#4.0 (although, I shouldn’t be surprised by that last one, it only came out this April). So, I keep on feeling that there’s something that I’m missing, that is simple and should be taught near the beginning, for C#3.5, except, especially if I were to talk to people who do know about the language, I’m sure that missing out something now is perfectly fine. Because I can just learn it later!!! Of course, I’ve had this experience where a tutorial on MSDN was written for C#3.0 or C#3.5, and I was trying something out (very basic mind you!!) in C#4.0 on Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (Beta), and it wouldn’t work!!!! Obviously since the last iteration, they’ve either changed the syntax for something, or just changed the function the tutorial was trying to get me to use…
But enough about that!! Sometime these holidays, when I’m not playing games, studying franticly to catch up in Chemistry and English, or trying to do my assignments, I’m gonna get back to designing my blog’s theme. I have some ideas for it (like changing the background slightly), and (when I finally get my new phone) I’ll be able to test it on lower powered mobile devices (lower than the iPad, iPhone4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 3G, that is) and see how laggy it is, see how long rendering is, how hard it is to use on the device, etc.
Talking about et cetera (not etcetera as the dictionary likes to spell it. It comes from the Latin meaning “and the rest”… I think. Ask Sean about it. Or anyone who’s studied Latin enough), thanks to my tallying of my English teacher’s utterances of et cetera in class, when ever someone else says it, I have an urge to pick up my pen and tally it, till I stop myself and say ‘not Mr V4n L00n, it’s someone else’. Should I be getting worried when it gets to that stage?? Maybe I just need to remind myself more that it’s only in English that I have to tally…
I still reckon that if I could write an essay like this, with no need to refer to the question, or the texts you have studied, or to point out and techniques the author has used, or whatever, then I could very easily get to the 1000 words that the HSC markers seem to like. I mean, this post alone is already past 520 words, and as I take a pause to let the word counter in WordPress to catch up, it says… 556 words. Wow it really takes its time to wait for the next count.
Oh, BTW, to any of my friends who are reading my blog, just so you know, Hi!!!
Speaking of that. I remember in Maths, last year. Ben would randomly go “Hey Tim! Hey Tim! Tim! Hey Tim! Hey Tim! Hey Tim! Hey Tim!” until Tim would look at him and say “What?”. And then he would say “Hi Tim!”. To keep it interesting, sometimes Ben would go through the “Hey Tim!” thing, and then ask him how he solved the question, comparing it to his own working, just to throw Tim out of balance when he was expecting the “Hi Tim!” Ahh, the memories… and to think that that was only last Year!!!!!!!
The further I go through the post (and the closer I come to having to go to church), and having just run past the 700 word mark about 10 words ago (from the 10, the 10 was the 710′th word), I feel that I should probably stop now, and let you guys rest your mind. BTW, congrats on reading all the way down the post!! Ahhh… the joy of writing a blog post. I feel so much in my mind, just bursting to come out. You know, sometimes I lay in bed, thinking up some things I could write up on my blog, but I can’t, because I don’t have a laptop I can use, or a mobile device such as the Nokia N8 or the iPhone 4 or the iPod Touch 3G (thinking about iOS4 (the iPhone OS’s new name) and the iPhone 4, I wonder what the iPod Touch 4g is going to be like…), I can’t really type them up while in bed, can I? So when I wake up in the morning, and go through all my day stuff (like school), I forget completely about what I was thinking, and that bubbly wanting to write is gone!! Completely and utterly gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now what should I post this under?? Uncategorised?
And this sentence will make the post go over 900 words, if I just make it long enough, so I’ll have to babble on a bit, ok there? There we go!!
I’m done now. BTW, why are there so many cute people in the world?
TTFN!! Ta Ta For Now!!!
PYTHOOOOOOOOOOOON.
