Long time no see
Well, I haven’t been blogging much recently… kinda a shame. But mostly it has to do with either not feeling in the mood or just not being able to think up of something to write that wasn’t so mundane that it bored even me (and hey, I can read some really boring stuff sometimes).
But the thing that has been going over my mind the most is the new Doctor Who series (which, along with David Tennant leaving and Russell T. Davies leaving as well (he was the lead producer/scriptwriter/director for the 1st 4 series + Torchwood), brought about a new face and style to the series, hence their idea to completely renew it) which is now called Series 1 (again), with Matt Smith as the new Doctor (you know, when I first saw him, I thought he wasn’t going to be anywhere as near as good as David Tennant, but hey! He’s living up to David’s reputation pretty well!), the new Sonic Screwdriver (green? Wow, odd, like when the one Dr Lovesong (or whatever her name was) had in the Library… red with lots of extra parts), and the New Brand New TARDIS!!!! It’s like, childlike, fun, bigger! Kinda like the Doctor’s personality. At least, David’s portrayal of the Doctor…
But looking up the prices on ABC.net’s online store for the DVD box sets of these is annoying. They have heaps of different versions of things for Doctor Who: figurines, books, Digital episodes for download (at approx. 10 episodes per series, and $23.70 per episode, that brings it up to about $237 a series, not including internet costs!!! Imagine DVD quality episodes, so about 700MB per episode, that’d be 7GB per series!!!!!!), Single episodes, the Christmas Specials, Volumes, and then the actual Entire Series Box sets, along with the older series per serial/era/Doctor…. yeah, lots of stuff to sift through to find a price. I’d be better off going to the actual shop and asking at the counter!! Except I’m not too willing to spend about $120 per series just yet… maybe when I get a job or something
Regardless of all that, school itself is going slowly. In SDD, I have been assigned the mini-project of assessing the School’s Network requirements for beyond 2010, keeping in mind the influx of new netbooks. I’ll have to ask Mr Benic for a little bit of guidelines to this, but I feel that all I have to do is quote my IST networking assignment I did with Kevin last year, and I’ll be fine!! One of the few useful things that IST had (along with seeing that the DET/School was smart enough to use the Arubra Wi-Fi N enterprise routers in the classrooms, just like we suggested in our assignment).
But now I’m gonna have dinner, and I’ve broken my chain of thoughts, so
TTFN! Ta Ta For Now!
