Music

Music NightS was on Thursday and Friday night. That means going back to school at 6:30pm to prepare to perform to an audience of 2 or 3 teachers, the other performers and their parents and the odd student here and there. The first night, I had a performance for the Flute Ensemble, which was right after the junior band opening. From what I heard of them, they were ok. I think I’m going to like ‘High School Musical’… we’re going to be playing it on Concert band tour. The Flute ensemble did ok, but we probably could’ve played a bit better. We seemed a bit… drawn back? But who cares? I also was part of the ‘Beginner Band and Friends’, as one of the ‘friends’ of cause :D . I was playing the piccolo! What fun. Sight reading music, playing an octave above the other flutes. Oscar was there to help boost the numbers, and Sean was playing Base Clarinet (go bass!!), Jess on Tuba, Nathan, Whinney, Fiona and Kitty? on percussion. The beginner band did pretty good, considering they’ve only been playing for 8 weeks. Read more »

lol Simon

I HAVE to comment on this. Simon, in all his wisdom, decided to dye his hair (his mum said he should do it…). So he did. And he left it on too long. Instead of a nice brown colour, he has a bright orange/ginger colour!! It was so weird yet funny… but I’m sure we’ll get used to it. And we’ll stop laughing at him about it… in about a week!! Nah… I won’t be mean to him.

The whole grade is starting to freak out at the english assessment. Instead of it being due first week of term 3, it’s due Monday week 10. Next week. So. I. Am. Desperate. To Finish it… on time. I have to get it done in between Music NightS, Pulse and the geo assignment. Oh, wait, Geo is also due that week. What fun… Because of Pulse, I can’t really hand a transcript of my english speech on the Monday, unless I hand it in before school… So, Tuesday, before school, no excuses (breaking a leg while hurrying to get the transcript into the English department doesn’t count… unfortunately…). ‘Yes, yes, I will get it in. I won’t forget.’ Knowing my luck, I will forget.

How great is this? Yr 9 non-calc tomorrow… what fun. I’m going to fail it. Again… I really should study for maths one day.. and IST. Oh, wait, I need to do the IST assignment as well…

[Edit] I got myself a new e-mail address.    ignoble.introvert@gmail.com    is the e-mail address. Took me a while to come up with that name, and a few searches with a thesaurus. But there it is. Still going to use antonyh3@hotmail.com as my main e-mail though. [/Edit]

I don’t really want a hair cut… or my hair to be trimmed….. but I suppose it’s got to be done one day… Yesterday, my mum decided to trim my hair, namely the fringe. I don’t think I like it that much… I guess it’ll have to grow on me… literally. Read more »

Weekend

The last weekend before Yamaha fest, and I spent it practicing music and fixing a comp. It was also the weekend before one of my IST topic tests…

After school on Friday, most of the people from the concert band stayed back after school for the Concert band workshop. I was one of them (I’m in the concert band after all…). So we spend the afternoon in tutorials with tutours for our sections, obviously having fun while we’re doing it, teasing one another here and there. Pizza for dinner, and we started the regular pile of pizza boxes. The rubbish pile was already building up from the afternoon tea we had earlier. Rehearshal, where we got straight into… New Symphony…. ‘And the Earth Trembled’. Amazingly annoying music it is. Apparently the only reason Mark picked it was because it was different and that it would offer us a challenge. Oh, and he did mention something about no other bands would choose it (I wouldn’t blame them if they didn’t!!). What a fun night, too bad I missed out on Youth that night… Read more »

now I see…

why so many people don’t like vista. It was a good try at an OS, but, really, Microsoft really stuffed up a few things… or maybe Vista is just inadequately liked by people. Anyways, unless it is by a fault of my own, when ever I search for things in Firefox, Windows Explorer dies, and has to restart. Sometimes windows explorer windows want to keep on flashing on the start bar, as if they’re saying ‘open me! I’ve supposedly done something!’…. really annoying when in actual fact it hasn’t done anything. When ever I use Dreamweaver CS3, windows explorer likes to play around and die, just like with firefox (only not as often -.-) or windows media player decides to slow the computer down heaps (actually, that’s because of the way it was programmed…. so I guess I should expect that on my comp). Download Day - English
Firefox 3 is coming soon!! I know because a) they said so, and b) They want Firefox 3 RC2 to be the last release candidate (I’m using it…). The only thing I have against Firefox 3 is it seems to keep on causing my windows explorer to crash… windows Vista, never trust it to work properly… Anyways, I’m going to download the release when it’s ready on that day to help set a world record.
Anyways, my maths mark is only 80….D: NOO……!! At least my science mark was 94… or something like that :D Good luck to the Junior Theatre sports team tonight!! And Happy Birthday to Jolene (she’s only 14?!?!…. BTW When is her actual birthday?).

What If?

all our lives are plagued with the question. What if I had done this? What if we had done that? What if there really is life out beyond our solar system? What if no one likes who I am? What if humanity were to end right here, right now? What if the way it ended were a horrible virus or something turning everyone into zombies of some sort (sorry, been watching horror-ish movies…)
All these what ifs are forever puzzling, and most often don’t get answered. But still, they’re always there, at the back of your mind…….
Still, there’s always the thought of how and/or when you’re going to die…
In other news, today with my day off from Chinese lessons, I took the advantage to go over to Jonathan Chou’s house to have a fun-filled arvo of playing games with him on the DS and playing against him and Andrew Yap on Andrew’s Xbox 360 (Halo 3, how could you guess?). Lets just say that Jonathan doesn’t play FPS on consoles enough… (even I was better than him). After a fun filled arvo was over, I came home and finished watching I Am Legend.

Long Weekend

Starting the long weekend now. Queen’s official birthday in Australia, so we all get a day off on Monday. What fun :D I’ve just found out that Halo Wars comes out it on October 1 (this year), so I’m happy that another Halo game is coming out (I definitely should get an Xbox 360 soon…). Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox is coming out July 15, Superior Saturday is out now (took Allen & Urwin a week to e-mail me about it….)!!! Read more »

Hiya! I'm Ant, an aussie Teen living out in Sydney, Australia (and BTW, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney is not a real address... yet), and welcome to my blog. Hopefully you're not a stalker =]

Aside from blogging, I also have made some attempts at website & WordPress Theme design (as seen by my blog!), so expect some weird things on this site sometimes
