Evan Almighty

Well, today after Church, I went to towers to meet up with some old school friends. One of the main reasons why we were meeting up was that one of our friends, Josh (who had moved up to Queensland in Yr 5) had come back down to visit again, so we decided to watch Evan Almighty together.

And I must say that it was a very funny movie! There were quite a few laughs coming from the small audience that was there. Anyways, its an interesting movie where Evan Baxter is asked, by God, to build an Ark. To do this, he must stop doing his job as a congressman in the American Government and actually do it.

“Kids, I have a building project for this weekend, and perhaps several weekends after that…”
“Is it too much to ask for just a LITTLE precipitation?”
(after the ark has landed (no I won’t tell you how it happened))”I think we can walk from here…”
and the message in this “What do we want to do? (People chant)CHANGE THE WORLD”
God: how do we change the world? With one-
Evan: Act of Random Kindness at a time…. (mean while, God draws the acronym ARK)

And at the end…. with the credits is footage of them…
EVERY BODY DANCE NOW!
That was funny!
God: I now issue a new commandment: (11)Thou Shalt do the Dance
that was FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!

HOLIDAYS!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally the holidays are here! No more school, well, for two weeks, that is…..

Today, after a short, and annoying, first 10 minutes of Music with Mr. Wong…. then the year 12 Graduation Assembly, and while the presentations were boring like always (who ever thought 200 students could take so long?) the items and the speeches in between were good. Then again, the speech by Mrs Monday wasn’t the best….. But Mitch’s was! The music was good as well. Who’d ever think William was so flexible? The things the year 12s showed in their presentation were…. interesting (go to YouTube and search up Baulko 07 jump on it, you’ll find one of the videos they made….).

Anyways, after that, and all the stuff that went with it, we got to miss out the 1st 4 periods (Double music and Sewing), leaving only the last 4, which, except for science (darn it, our class is behind, so we actually have to work) all they were bludges. Maths especially. “Just do stuff quietly” is what the maths teacher said. I mean, how often does a maths teacher say that?!

Anyways, now its the holidays, I can work on my website, maybe actually get it working? That would help a lot. And now I can play games! Yay!

The Prayer

A minister passing through his church in the middle of the day,

Decided to pause by the altar and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened, a man came down the aisle,

Then minister frowned as he saw the man he hadn’t shaved in a while.

His shirt was kinda shabby and his coat was worn and frayed.

The man knelt just for a moment, a lunch pail in his lap.

Well, the minister’s suspicion grew, with robbery a main fear

He decided to stop the man and ask him, “What are you doing here?”

The old man said, he worked down the road. Lunch was half an hour.

Lunchtime was his prayer time, for finding strength and power.

“I stay only moments, see, because the factory is so far away;

As I kneel here talking to the Lord, this is kinda what I say:

I just came again to tell you, Lord, how happy I’ve been,

Since we found each other’s friendship and you took away my sin.

Don’t know much of how to pray, but I think about you every day.

So, Jesus, this is Jim checking in.’”

The minister felling foolish, told Jim, that was fine.

He told the man he was welcome to come and pray just anytime.

Time to go, Jim smiled, said “Thanks.” He hurried to the door

The minister knelt at the altar, he’d never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love, and met with Jesus there.

As the tears flowed, in his heart, he repeated old Jim’s prayer:

“I just came again to tell you, Lord, how happy I’ve been,

Since we found each other’s friendship and you took away my sin.

I don’t know much of how to pray, but I think about you everyday.

So, Jesus, this is me checking in.”

Past noon one day, the minister noticed that old Jim hadn’t come.

As more days passed without Jim, he began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him, learning he was ill.

The hospital staff was worried, but he’d given them a thrill.

The week that Jim was with them, brought changes in the ward.

His smiles, a joy contagious. Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn’t understand why Jim was so glad,

When no flowers, calls or cards came, not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed, he voiced the nurse’s concern:

No friends came to show they cared. He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke up and with a winsome smile;

“The nurse is wrong, she couldn’t know that in here all the while

Everyday at noon, He’s here, a dear friend of mine, you see,

He sits right down, takes my hand, leans over and says to me:

‘I just came again to tell you, Jim, how happy I have been,

Since we found this friendship, and I took away your sin.

Always love to hear you pray, I think about you each day,

And so Jim, this is Jesus checking in.’”

Soul Purpose and Life

Well, today during lunch at school, I attended the school’s Christian group’s (Soul Purpose) weekly get-together. Today’s was very unusual because not only was it the year 12′s last one (for those of them that came) but the Year 7s were at a life saving course, the Year 9s never seem to turn up, nor the Year 10s, although a lot of them were at the Year 7′s course as instructors (it was for their Physical And Sport Science (PASS) assessment) and the Year 11s were doing something else, so I was only us Year 8s.

Anyways, today we did the first bible study from the new book the year 12s got the group. It was kinda interesting, as there were only 15 of us, when normally there’d be like 50.

Also, later tonight, I’ll be going out with the youth group I attend to Koorong West Ride to purchase new stuff! Finally, I’ll be getting a study bible. Or so I hope.

Hello

Hello.

This is my new blog. I think there might be another one i set up in the wrong place, but I plan to remove that, in a couple, thousand, years, or so.

Anyways, here it is. If you’ve managed to find it, that is…

Enjoy!
